Modified Canvas Help Services for Winter Break

Due to the university's closure for the Winter Break, Canvas Help services will be modified as follows:

  • Tuesday, December 23, 2025: FIU Canvas Help will be available virtually from 10:00am till 4:00pm ET via phone, live chat, or by submitting a student or instructor request. FIU Canvas Help on-campus support will be unavailable on this day. Instructure Support will be available via phone, live chat, and ticket support for the whole day by using the “Help” menu within Canvas.
  • Wednesday, December 24, 2025: FIU Canvas Help will be unavailable due to the university’s closure in observance of the Winter Break. Instructure Support via phone, live chat, and ticket support will be available by using the “Help” menu within Canvas.
  • Thursday, December 25, 2025: FIU Canvas Help will be unavailable due to the university’s closure in observance of the Winter Break. Instructure Support via live chat and ticket support will be available by using the “Help” menu within Canvas, but Instructure phone support will be unavailable on this day.
  • Friday, December 26 through Tuesday, December 30, 2025: FIU Canvas Help will be available virtually from 10:00am till 4:00pm ET via phone, live chat, or by submitting a student or instructor request. FIU Canvas Help on-campus support will be unavailable on this day. Instructure Support via phone, live chat, and ticket support will be available by using the “Help” menu within Canvas.
  • Wednesday, December 31 through Thursday, January 1, 2026: FIU Canvas Help will be unavailable due to the university’s closure in observance of the Winter Break Instructure Support via phone, live chat, and ticket support will be available by using the Help menu within Canvas. Instructure Support via phone, live chat, and ticket support will be available by using the “Help” menu within Canvas.
  • Friday, January 2, 2026: FIU Canvas Help will be available virtually from 10:00am till 4:00pm ET via phone, live chat, or by submitting a student or instructor request. FIU Canvas Help on-campus support will be unavailable on this day. Instructure Support via phone, live chat, and ticket support will be available by using the “Help” menu within Canvas.
  • Saturday, January 3, 2026: FIU Canvas Help will resume normal operations.

Please note: Ed Tech Services (ETS) will follow the university closure dates and normal operations are set to resume on January 5, 2026.

Spring A/C 2026 - Access Information

Welcome students! For those enrolled in a course for the Spring A/C semester, access to your Canvas courses will be available on the first day of class - Monday, January 5, 2026. For important dates and deadlines please consult your class schedule via my.fiu.edu or the FIU Academic Calendar. If you would like to learn more about how to use Canvas, you can join our live student Canvas trainings at the start of each semester.

Add/Drop Period Spring A/C 2026

If you add or drop a course in my.fiu.edu, it can take up to 24 hours for the change to be updated in Canvas. After 24 hours, if you are still having an issue with a course you changed during the university's add/drop period, please contact FIU Canvas Help.
